USDA National Organic Program Recruiting a Compliance Officer

The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service is currently recruiting for a "Compliance Officer" to work in the National Organic Program’s Compliance and Enforcement Division. The National Organic Program (NOP) is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the USDA organic regulations. This includes: developing and implementing the organic standards; enforcing organic production, handling, and labeling standards; and accrediting and training organic certifying agents.

The National Organic Program (NOP) is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the USDA organic regulations. This includes: developing and implementing the organic standards; enforcing organic production, handling, and labeling standards; and accrediting and training organic certifying agents. 
 
The successful applicant for this position will review and analyze complaint case files, including evaluating facts, identifying potential violations, determining the elements needed to prove or disprove the allegations, and recommending a course of action. The incumbent will conduct investigations and develop case file materials and related documentation; and conduct follow-up monitoring to ensure operations remain in compliance after initial corrective actions are taken.
