Biographies for the Organic Education Center staff
Kathy Dang, Program Manager
Prior to working with Oregon Tilth, Kathy worked with our sister organization, Seattle Tilth. She has over 10 years experience in organic agriculture and is excited to be a part of Oregon Tilth’s education team. She has a degree in Social Ecology from Fairhaven College in Bellingham, WA where she was first inspired to grow food at the college’s student run farm. She has also worked with a variety of small farms in the Pacific Northwest and Latin America. Kathy loves gardening and helping empower others to grow their own…she’s also incredibly attached to her hardy stock of red wiggler worms that relocated with her from Seattle.

Conner Voss, Garden CoordinatorConner's interest in agriculture started with childhood cherry tomato wars. During his time at UC Davis, working towards a B.A. in International Relations, Conner gravitated towards a lifestyle that brought him closer to the land, his food...and a special farmer friend. Things were looking up. A creative livelihood combined with a healthy lifestyle felt like something to work towards. In the years since, Conner has enjoyed honing his growing skills in the Pacific Northwest, where he's managed a variety of organic operations. He and his wife Sarah (still that special friend) thrive in developing a small farm business together, and are happiest when savoring a home grown meal. |

Randall Cass, Environmental EducatorRandall is currently serving a second term as an AmeriCorps member at the Organic Education Center. His agrarian roots trace back to the rolling plains of Idaho where, as the son of an agronomist, he was roguing fields as early as he could walk. He has a B.A. in International Studies, with an emphasis on agricultural development, from Willamette University in Salem, OR. A devout composter, food sovereignty advocate, and beekeeping enthusiast, Randall keeps himself busy juggling the numerous urban agriculture opportunities the city of Portland has to offer. |

Sarah Brown, Organic EducatorSarah has been an Educator with Oregon Tilth for the past 2 years and has a degree in International Agriculture Development from UC Davis. She has worked on and managed a variety of organic farms and educational garden programs, and is dedicated to growing food and helping others do so. When not "at work" she and her partner Conner farm 2 acres in urban Milwaukie where they manage a small CSA. Her favorite things to do in the garden are harvesting carrots, sharing sunflowers with the birds, and experiencing the success of spring germination. You can follow her adventures in food growing at www.digginrootsfarm.com. |
