Leora Stein, Program Assistant

Email Leora

It was in her mother’s garden that Leora learned her first organic gardening lessons and cultivated a passion for sustainable food production. Leora graduated from Whitman College in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Sociology and went on to gain experience in agriculture and community food security first as a farmer, and then as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). She most recently worked at Ecotrust in Portland, Oregon as the FoodHub Member Services Coordinator assisting food buyers and sellers to connect and grow the regional food economy. As Oregon Tilth’s OEC Program Assistant, Leora is excited to help others learn about organic gardening and experience the joy that comes with it. In her spare time, Leora loves to try out new recipes in the kitchen and play her violin.
