Oregon Tilth Accredited Organic Land Care, a program dedicated to training and accrediting sustainable landscape practices, in partnership with Willamette University, is pleased to announce:
Organic Land Care Summer Workshop for landscape professionals focusing on organic land care principles and applications, including soil and plant health, IPM, stormwater management and sustainable design. This class will involve both classroom and field study.

| Soil Health Maintenance; Jim Toler |
Jim founded Willamette Organics in 2003 to serve the farming and landscape industries and has been instrumental in helping Oregon Tilth develop the Accredited Organic Land Care program. He has attended the Northeast Organic Farming Association’s organic land care training and wrote the initial draft for the Oregon Tilth Organic Land Care Policies and Standards. He will be presenting material related to soil health, including soil testing and soil biology. |
| Plant Selection for the Organic Landscape; Dean Wentworth |
Dean is the Botanical Garden and Greenhouse Curator at Willamette University. He has been with the university since October, 1999. He graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Horticulture, with an emphasis in soils and plant pathology. |
| Willamette University Field Study; Mickey Cochrane |
Mickey is a groundskeeper at Willamette University in Salem. He is also an Oregon Tilth Accredited Organic Land Care practitioner. Willamette University has been managing its landscapes organically for almost five years now. In this presentation, we will hear about the successes in organic management on the campus. |
Participants in the training will receive a copy of the Oregon Tilth Organic Land Care Policies and Standards. Lunch included. Continued education hours are available for most associations, including the Oregon Landscape Contractor's Board.
