This workshop utilizes 100 actual soil tests taken from numerous wineries and vineyards from many wine-growing areas. All samples have been analyzed by using the Albrecht method; a specific system of soil testing that is used to establish the correct nutrient levels for use if winegrape production. The basic foundation for determining each nutrient required for achieving excellent soil fertility is provided as a specific formula. Each formula is explained by subject covered, and is included as a handout in participant's notebooks, along with copies of all the soil tests used for the course.
Bring a calculator and a pen or pencil. We will provide the notebook with ample space for notes, with extra notebook paper and pens.
Optional Vineyard Tour
On Thurs. there will be an optional tour conducted to Beckstoffer Vineyards and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars for those who would like to visit area vineyards utilizing our testing fertilization program. Tour begins at 8:30am and will end at 4pm. Lunch is included. Total cost is $150/person, which includes lodging Wed. night at Embassy Suites f you register by Dec. 18, 2009.
