Celebrate and Learn!
Are you interested in learning more about health and wellness through nutrition? Join us to attend workshops, eat deliciously prepared local foods, and meet fellow healthy food enthusiasts.
EAT WELL BE WELL is a FREE evening event on October 24, 2013 held at First Presbyterian Church of Corvallis. Donations of cash will be accepted for the event and donations of food will be accepted for the food bank.
A spread of delicious food will be prepared by the talented staff of Corvallis First Alternative Food Co-op. Prepare to delight your taste-buds with the variety of flavors the local region has to offer. Bring your appetite! After dinner, a series of workshops will be offered.
Speakers include nutritionists, master food preservers, MDs, school educators, and more!

Are you looking to plan your winter menu? Nutritionist Virginia Shapiro will speak about the role of nutrition in a healthy lifestyle and will give tips on how to eat local and eat healthfully during the winter season.
Are you interested in medical proof? Dr. Kyle Homertgen will speak about work he has been doing with chronically ill patients and will speak about the marked improvements diet has made in their recovery process.
Gardening is for all ages! Representatives from the Linus Pauling Institute Healthy Youth Program will speak about their work with area schools, and about how getting kids gardening at an early age fosters wonderful childhood development
Interested in preserving your harvest? Experienced food preserver Linda Zeidrich will be giving workshops on making cabbage kimchi and chili-garlic relish. Yum!
Do you like to Garden? Want to get the best out of what you grow? Harry MacCormack is an organic farmer, earth activist, and distinguished author who will teach about growing food for maximum nutrient density.
This FREE event is brought to you by the teamwork of several local food activism groups: Corvallis First Alternative Food Co-op, Ten Rivers Food Web, Slow Food Corvallis, The Linus Pauling Institute, Corvallis League of Women Voters, Corvallis-Albany Farmers' Market, and the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition
