SUMMARY:High Tunnel Greenhouse Workshop
DTSTART:20121102T160000Z
DTEND:20121102T220000Z
DESCRIPTION:Rural landowners interested in raising high value crops fo
r the local markets will be interested in attending a workshop on High
Tunnel Greenhouses\, offered by WSU Extension Clark County. A high tu
nnel greenhouse is a farm built\, plastic-covered hoop house that is n
aturally ventilated by rolling up the sides or opening the doors. Crop
 s such as tomatoes\, peppers\, lettuce\, strawberries\, and raspberrie
s are grown in the ground underneath the cover of the high tunnel. Tun
nels are typically tall enough that farmers can drive their tractors b
eneath them. Drip irrigation lines are laid within the crop rows to ke
ep the plants growing through the summer.
