Dunn Carney Allen Higgins & Tongue is presenting its first Ag Summit on Oct. 7, 2008 at the Wilsonville Holiday Inn. This half day summit will begin at 8:15 AM and cover important and timely issues related to Water, Alternative Energy, Niche Marketing/Trademarks, Climate Change Legislation and Succession, Estate and Business Planning. The Oregon Farm Bureau Federation, the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, the Oregon Dairy Farmers Association the Oregon Wheat Growers League and the Agri-Business Council of Oregon have each agreed to be Participating Organizations for the Summit. Dunn Carney anticipates that news of the Summitwill reach well over 10,000 farmers and producers in Oregon.
Dunn Carney has invited Senators Smith and Wyden to speak at the Summit on federal legislation and initiatives impacting the agriculture industry. Other speakers include Dunn Carney attorneys Elizabeth Howard, Tim Bernasek, Merrill Baumann, Kate Moore, Marsha Murray-Lusby and JoDee Keegan. Brenda Bateman from the Oregon Water Resources Department will also speak on water legislation anticipated for the 2009 legislative session.
