About the Summit
The Sustainable Foods Summit is a series of international summits that focuses on the leading issues the food industry faces concerning sustainability and eco-labels, such as Organic, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, UTZ Certified, etc.
The aim of the Sustainable Foods Summit is to explore new horizons for eco-labels and sustainability in the food industry by discussing key industry issues. How do organic, fair trade and other eco-labels further sustainability? Will there ever be a single sustainability standard for food products? How can sustainability performance be measured? Case studies will be given of food companies and ingredient firms that are successfully pushing the boundaries of eco-labels and / or sustainability.
In 2014, the summit will be hosted in three different regions: The North American edition will take place in San Francisco (22-23 January), the Latin American edition will be hosted in São Paulo (27-28 March), whilst the European edition will once again be hosted in Amsterdam (5-6 June). Like prior editions, the summits will bring together key stake-holders in the food industry that include food manufacturers, ingredient & raw material suppliers, retailers & distributors, industry organisations & certification agencies, researchers & academics, investors, etc.
