Interim Rule Extends Use of Methionine in Organic Poultry Production
USDA has adopted as final an interim rule that extends the use of synthetic methionine in organic poultry production until 10/01/12.
USDA has adopted as final an interim rule that extends the use of synthetic methionine in organic poultry production until 10/01/12. The following maximum levels of synthetic methionine per ton of feed are defined as follows:
- laying chickens, 4 pounds
- broiler chickens, 5 pounds
- turkeys and other poultry, 6 pounds.
