A new groundbreaking study from the University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom finds conclusive evidence that organic crops and the food made from them are nutritionally superior to their conventional counterparts. The paper, which will be published in the prestigious British Journal of Nutrition, also shows that organic crops have lower rates of pesticide residue and lower levels of the toxic metal cadmium than their conventional counterparts. The international team of researchers conducted a meta-analysis on 342 peer-reviewed publications examining the health benefits of organic agriculture. Their findings create the most sound, complete evidence to date for the health benefits of organic.
