Senate Appropriations Committee Passes FY2012 Agriculture Funding Bill

The Senate Committee on Appropriations passed its Fiscal Year 2012 Agriculture Appropriations Bill on Sept. 7. This bill contains the Senate’s recommended funding levels for USDA and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) programs.

The Senate Committee on Appropriations passed its Fiscal Year 2012 Agriculture Appropriations Bill on Sept. 7. This bill contains the Senate’s recommended funding levels for USDA and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) programs, including the National Organic Program, Organic Data Initiative, and Organic Research. In June, the House passed its version of the bill with substantial differences, so the bills will have to be reconciled in a Conference before final passage.
