The intent of the training is to help agriculture professionals understand the unique needs of organic farmers with regard to nutrient management planning and cover crop and buffer installation. See the attached flier for more details and RSVP info. This is a great opportunity to bring agriculture professionals together where shared experience and knowledge will greatly enhance the training.
Participants will gain a better understanding of how to implement practice standards in organic systems and an increased ability to assist organic producers with the development of a conservation plan.
These trainings are a collaborate effort between USDA, NRCS, Oregon TIlth, NCAT ATTRA, and Oregon State University with funding provided by the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (WSARE)
Training Agenda includes:
-Implement of nutrient management, cover crops, buffers on organic operations
-NRCS Pest Management assistance for organic operations
-Resources on working with transitioning producers
-A farm field visit & case study
