Food Front Cooperative Grocery

Food Front is a Portland-based cooperative committed to providing the community with the freshest and finest food that local farmers and food-producers can provide. It started in the early 1970s when a group of neighbors in northwest Portland decided that the city needed a grocery that provided quality foods that were not being sold at supermarkets. Today, Food Front is still providing its members with superior foods and continues to play an important role in the city's local, organic, and slow food movements.

Oregon Tilth's Organic Education Center is a featured community partner
organization at Food Front's Hillsdale store during June and July 2009.
During these months, Food Front customers can make a donation at the
register to support our education programs to help people farm their
gardens. Donations will help support our scholarship program for our
community classes and help us purchase seeds and garden supplies to
grow fresh organic produce to be donated to local food banks and social
service agencies. Visit Food Front this month to support local, organic
food and the work of the Organic Education Center!
