Mitigating Soil Disturbance in Organic Systems

June 2, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Understanding everything you need to know about organic is no easy task. Oregon Tilth and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) are here to help with our 2015 Webinar Series. Together, we will explore in depth topics like organic labeling, pollinator plantings in pasture, decoding livestock feed requirements and more. Join us on the first Tuesday of every month for our one hour webinar sessions so you can gain a better understanding on the rapidly changing industry.

Join this webinar to learn more about practices that can offset the negative impacts of tillage.

Giulio Feruzzi will discuss production practices that can offset the negative impacts of tillage in organic systems, including the use of cover crops, compost and other additions of organic matter.  In an attempt to quantify the mitigation impact, this webinar will use RUSLE2 as a measure.  A case study will be used to illustrate some of the presented principles.

Speaker:  Giulio Ferruzzi, Conservation Agronomist, NRCS
