Unpacking the Compostable Packaging Market

October 27, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm $25

Compostable packaging is a great sustainable packaging option. It reduces plastic contamination and many types can be developed with generally “renewable” paper or fiber materials. As a food company, how can you be sure what packaging options are truly compostable, and if it’s really the best sustainable option for your product and the planet? To learn more, please join us for Unpacking the Compostable Packaging Market – a virtual roundtable discussion moderated by Associate Director Lisa Spicka.

In this webinar, we will learn about common types of compostable packaging, how to evaluate “sustainable fiber” packaging claims, how to know if a material is compostable, and how to evaluate if a compostable versus recyclable material may be the best for you. Our experts will also discuss how to education your consumers about end-of-life management, as well as introduce new compostable packaging technology that solves some of the problems currently associated with compostable fiber packaging. We look forward to seeing you there!

The webinar is free for SFTA members and $25 for non-members.
