Organic sales during COVID-19
The Captial Press discusses the organic produce sales continue to rise throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The Organic Trade Association reports sales are 16 percent higher in than the same timeframe in 2019.
“Sales of organic fresh produce show no signs of slowing and continue to be a major growth opportunity for retailers across the country,” Matt Seeley, CEO of the Organic Produce Network, said in a statement.
Oregon Tilth’s Sarah Brown, director of education and advocacy, shared how despite periodic disruptions in the food supply chain more farms and companies are transitioning to organic.
