Renewal process

We appreciate your decision to certify with us and hope that you will choose to renew your certification with OTCO for 2019. We’re committed to providing you with the highest quality services and programs.

The Organic System Plan (OSP) Renewal Application is designed to accomplish all requirements — even if you hold multiple classes of certification (e.g., crop and livestock) — in one simple form. To continue your organic certification, you must complete the OSP Renewal Application and submit certification fees by January 1, 2019, or April 1, 2019, depending on your operation’s assigned deadline.

Option 1: Renew online
You can use the online renewal form below to complete your certification renewal and submit payment.

Option 2: Renew by mail
If preferred, you can download the form (choose “download and complete paper form” below) to print and mail to OTCO, along with a check for certification fees, to OTCO Renewal, 2525 SE 3rd Street, Corvallis, OR, 97333.

If you have changes to your Organic System Plan (OSP), please include a description of any changes on the Update Application and include updated OTCO forms or documentation. Our staff will review your submission and communicate approvals to you in a timely manner.

Basic Information

Step 1: Request Renewal

You are notifying OTCO of your intent to surrender your organic certification. Remember: once you surrender your organic certification, products cannot be sold or labeled as organic.

  • Handling (Class OH, OP, OM, OFT, OPC)

  • Mexico Organic Program - (Mexico Only)
  • ACB EU Certification
  • Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS)
  • US-Canada Equivalency
  • NSF/ANSI 305
  • By adding services to my certification, I understand there may be additional fees and agree to pay when invoiced.

  • Yes, my certification is a production partnership, as per the OTCO fee schedule with the following OTCO certified company. Please bill them for the certification and inspection fees.



Step 3: Update on Previous Noncompliance(s) & Reminders

Note that you know you can view previous years non-compliances and reminders through your MyOTCO account by clicking on the corrective actions tab.

Step 4: Organic System Plan Update

Please provide any updates or changes to your OSP sections (i.e. pest control, sanitation, labels, farm practices, field & crop information, new land etc...). Step 5: Plan for Your Annual Inspection

Help us plan for your annual inspection by sharing your availability for the year. Be sure to include dates or months that do not work for you.

Step 6: Membership

Please note there is no extra charge for an Oregon Tilth membership.

Step 8: Submit Payment Information

In order to determine your certification fee please provide OTCO with the total gross amount of organic sales over the previous year. If you are renewing as a Handler (class OP, OH, OM, OPC, OFT) or are a farm and processor with gross sales above $500,000 you must submit the Oregon Tilth Fee Worksheet (available in next step).

  • I will email my fee worksheet to renew@tilth.org
  • I will mail my fee worksheet to the Oregon Tilth office.
  • I understand that I must submit my payment according to the OTCO fee schedule.
  • Please note that if you are not able to pay the fee in full, you can contact the Finance Department to arrange a payment plan.

    • I will calculate my fees online (you can choose to pay now or be invoiced after going through the fee calculator)
    • I am a production partner and understand my primary partner will be invoiced

Step 9: Sign Continuation of Certification Agreement

By submitting this form, you are stating that:

  1. You have read the above information and attest that it is true to the best of your knowledge.
  2. You affirm that you have read, fully understand and agree to be bound by the standards, procedures, fees, policies, assessments, obligations, and requirements as presented in the current Oregon Tilth Manuals available at tilth.org
  3. You will continue to operate in accordance with applicable standards and Oregon Tilth policies.
  4. Once you click the Submit button below, your renewal application will be sent to renew@tilth.org.
