Crop Talk: Scaling Down with Oak Hill Organics
Katie and Casey Kulla of Oak Hill Organics are opening up their farm on August 6 for a farm tour and Q and A session.
They will be focusing on the ins and outs of scaling down the farm. What do you do if the farm is too much to manage? Katie and Casey will share their own 13-year journey of scaling up to over 100 acres, supporting multiple employees, and running a full-diet CSA and how they scaled back down. You can read more about their story on their website and OSU Small Farms Extension hopes you join us on the farm to see it in person!
Crop Talks are farmer-to-farmer educational opportunities that consist of a tour of a farm by the farmer and a discussion about their area of expertise or interest during the growing season. These are opportunities to get out into someone’s field, see their practices in action, ask questions, and connect with other local farmers while doing it! For farmers, by farmers.
Additional farm tour details will be emailed to participants who have registered.
