Job Opening: NW TOPP Program Delivery Assistant
Oregon Tilth is seeking a Program Delivery Assistant (Consultant) for the Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) including planning workshops, supporting the creation of resources, and conducting outreach activities.
TOPP is a network assembled by the USDA’s National Organic Program to support transitioning and organic producers with mentorship, technical assistance, and resources. The expected start date for this role is May 15, 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
During the period of May 15, 2024 – November 15, 2024, the NW TOPP Program Delivery Assistant will work with the Oregon Tilth Education Team on TOPP projects including, but not limited to:
- Support the creation of organic certification recordkeeping and other related resources;
- Plan on-farm field days focused on the transition to organic in partnership with Oregon State University and/or other partners identified in partnership with the Oregon Tilth Education team; and
- Support outreach efforts to promote TOPP at events and online
We strongly prefer an individual who is bilingual in English and Spanish who can:
- Support correspondence interpretations and translation of program communications, materials, webpages, and resources into Spanish; and
- Communicate directly with Spanish speaking audiences including farmers, agricultural service providers, handlers, processors, and partners. Communications include responding to emails and general inquiries, conducting outreach at events and other settings, meeting in a 1:1 setting, facilitating direct delivery of programs such as the farmer mentorship program.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or minimum of 4 years equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent writing and communication skills
Preferred Skills and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Location
Based in Oregon and Washington and fully remote work
Compensation
The compensation for this position is $45.00 per hour; or $50.00 per hour if fully bilingual. This is a limited duration position with a maximum of 25 hours per week for 6 months. This position is not eligible for any additional benefits such as health/dental/vision or any other insurances, vacation or personal time off accrued or awarded, and participation in the 401K or retirement benefit plans.
There may be an opportunity for additional duties in a subsequent agreement with the right individual.
