The main purpose of the bi-annual National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) meeting is to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to give feedback on proposed NOSB recommendations and discussion items. The meetings also allow NOSB to receive updates from USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) on issues pertaining to organic agriculture.  

Oregon Tilth is grateful for the opportunity to provide comments to the National Organic Standards Board. Our comments to the board for the Spring 2022 session reflect our commitment to advocating for organic and our clients on the frontline of our food system. We also recently provided comments to the National Organic Program about how best to prioritize the backlog of recommendations from the NOSB. The NOP must advance and implement recommendations from the organic industry to ensure continuous improvement of organic standards.
