Transition and Growth in the Organic Sector
On February 2, 2017, over 100 food system stakeholders met during the biannual Organicology conference’s full-day “Transition and Growth in the Organic Sector” intensive workshop.
The aims of the intensive were to: (1) identify challenges associated with growing the U.S.’s organic supply and (2), identify ideas and steps stakeholders can take to support farmers and grow organics domestically. The intensive was led by an independent facilitator and included a mix of formal presentations, panel discussions and small-group breakout sessions. The summary presents the outcomes of the intensive workshop.
