Using Oregon Tilth Logos and Seals
Summary: Oregon Tilth (OTCO) and program-specific logos may only be used by currently certified clients in good standing. All label uses must be reviewed and approved by OTCO before printing. Logos may not be altered. This guide explains which logos are available, who may use them, and any additional requirements by product type and certification program.
General Guidelines for Using Oregon Tilth Logos
New or updated product labels that use an Oregon Tilth logo must be submitted to OTCO for review and approval. This includes products certified under the following programs:
- USDA National Organic Program (NOP)
- NSF/ANSI 305 (organic personal care)
- Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
- Oregon Tilth Certified Transitional
- Organic Plus Trust (OPT) Grass-Fed Organic
Are modifications to Oregon Tilth logos allowed?
No. Logos cannot be modified in any way. This includes:
- Changing the color, size, or shape
- Altering fonts
- Rotating or distorting the image
Approved versions include:
- Full-color
- Black and white
- Inverse (white on transparent background)
Who Can Use Oregon Tilth Logos?
Only OTCO-certified clients in good standing are permitted to use Oregon Tilth logos. Usage must follow all labeling requirements and be approved prior to printing or publishing.

Alternate OTCO “Certified Organic” Logo
This version includes the text “Certified Organic.”
Who can use this logo?
- Only OTCO-certified clients in good standing
- For “Made with Organic” products, this logo can only be used if:
- The product label includes “Made with Organic [ingredient]” on the same panel as the logo
Restrictions:
- This logo cannot be used on NSF/ANSI 305 personal care products

Alternate OTCO Logo: “Organic is Always Non-GMO”
This version includes the message: “Organic is Always Non-GMO”
Who can use this logo?
- OTCO-certified clients in good standing
- “Made with Organic” products must:
- Clearly state “Made with Organic [ingredient]” on the same label panel
Restrictions:
- Not permitted on NSF/ANSI 305 certified personal care products
Available formats:

Oregon Tilth Certified Transitional Logo
This logo is available only for OTCO-certified transitional clients in good standing. Transitional certification supports farms moving toward organic compliance.
Requirements:
- Use of the logo on labels must be approved
- No modifications to the logo are allowed

OPT Certified Grass-Fed Organic Seal
The OPT Certified Grass-Fed Organic seal is managed by Organic Plus Trust (OPT) and is available only to certified clients under the OPT program.
Who can use it?
- Clients certified under the OPT Grass-Fed Organic standard
How to request:
- Complete and sign a licensing agreement with OPT
- Contact the OPT Program Director at: ltonti@organicplustrust.com
Usage fee:
- Fees apply for using the seal in marketing or labeling
- Exception: operations with less than $15,000/year in certified OPT meat or dairy sales
Labeling requirements:
- Single-ingredient products: Must be labeled as “Certified Grass-Fed Organic Dairy” or “Certified Grass-Fed Organic Meat”
- Multi-ingredient products:
- May use “Contains Certified Grass-Fed Organic [ingredient]” (if 70–94% compliant)
- Must not contain mixed certified and non-certified versions of the same ingredient

- Available upon request once your certification application is submitted
Mexico Organic Seal
- Use governed by SAGARPA rules. Review the General Rules of Use for the National Seal
