Requesting a Transaction Certificate

Summary: A Transaction Certificate (TC) verifies that a specific shipment of goods is certified organic. To request a hard copy, email export@tilth.org with your shipping details and carrier account number. Expedited service is available if requested.

What is a Transaction Certificate?

A Transaction Certificate is an official document that confirms certified organic status for a specific shipment or lot. Many international buyers and importers require a TC to accompany organic exports.

How to Request a Hard Copy Transaction Certificate

If you need the original hard copy mailed to you:

  • Email your request to export@tilth.org.
  • Provide the following details in your request:
    • Shipping address for the certificate
    • Carrier account number (FedEx, UPS, DHL) to be billed
    • Contact name and phone number for the recipient
    • If shipping by UPS, also include the zip code associated with the account

Without this information, we cannot process the mailing of your certificate.

Expedited Requests

Yes, Transaction Certificate requests are eligible for expedited service. To expedite, clearly state your urgency and deadlines in the body of your email request to export@tilth.org.
