What To Know About Your Processing & Handling Organic System Plan (OSP)
Summary: Your Organic System Plan (OSP) is the foundation of your organic certification. It documents how your business follows organic rules. To update your certification, download the correct OSP forms below and submit them to your Oregon Tilth client service team.
What is the Organic System Plan (OSP)?
The Organic System Plan (OSP) is your operation’s blueprint for organic production and handling practices. It describes how your business maintains compliance with the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) and other organic standards. Every certified operation must have an up-to-date OSP on file.
Keeping your OSP current is essential. Anytime your operation makes changes—such as new products, facilities, suppliers, or processes—you must update your OSP and submit the revised forms.
