Transitioning Small Grain Production to Organic

This webinar was presented in partnership with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)- Science and Technology National Technology Support Centers.

Grain farmers consider trying organic production for a variety of reasons, including economics and personal philosophy. Using several case studies of organic grain farms in the Pacific Northwest, in this webinar we discussed possible transitions to organic farming. Management practices include crop rotation, soil fertility, and weed management. The webinar also introduced a new, online Extension publication: Organic Small Grain Production in the Pacific Northwest: A Collection of Case Studies.
