What To Know About Your Crop Organic System Plan (OSP)

Summary: The Organic System Plan (OSP) is the blueprint for your organic crop production practices. It outlines how your operation complies with organic standards, covering everything from seed selection to soil fertility, pest management, harvest, storage, and sales. Use the forms below to create or update your OSP.

What is a Crop OSP?

The Crop OSP is a required document for organic certification. It describes how your farm manages:

  • Seeds and planting stock
  • Soil fertility and crop nutrition
  • Pest, weed, and disease management
  • Protection of natural resources and biodiversity
  • Harvesting, storage, and transportation practices
  • Recordkeeping and labeling requirements

Your OSP must be kept up to date. Any significant change in your operation must be reported to Oregon Tilth.
